This is me

Hi, thanks for making it here! I wear a lot of hats. Please choose from the menu above if you’re interested in marketing and/or web design; copywriting and translation; coaching on international business communication; or my books or music.

full of surprises

Born in the UK, a childhood in South Africa, and a happy resident of Berlin since the early 90s. A full-time musician for 20 years; then a family man and (surprise!) needing to establish a more stable income, I got into teaching international business communication, while doing translations on the side.

Ten years later, I’ve taught at companies including Sony, E-Plus, Bosch, BWB and a bunch of others (including the odd high-ranking politician…). I’ve translated books for Prestel, Randomhouse, Hatje Canz and Penguin.

At the same time I’ve been running a (reasonably successful) blog / online magazine covering indie music, fashion, culture and lifestyle. Initially focused on Berlin (indieberlin), now on cool stuff happening everywhere (indierepublik).

I’ve also finally started writing and publishing books, my dream since forever. At the moment (2021) I have The Berlin Diaries – Tacheles 1990 and a thriller, The Downing of the Drones, out. Planning a biography of Berlin’s coolest label in the 90s, Kitty Yo; and other books in the pipeline.
